Why a laser belongs in a classroom

It closes the loop between a drawing and a real object in a single lesson. Architecture and engineering students cut scale models, product design students iterate a prototype in an afternoon, and fabrication students learn the machine they will meet in industry. It is also, bluntly, the piece of equipment that makes a workshop worth visiting on an open day.

What a school actually needs

• The machine — RayJet, R Series or a Speedy, sized to the class and the material
• Extraction — not optional in an occupied room, and specified around the materials the curriculum uses
• Safety training — laser class, interlocks, and the materials that must never be cut. PVC is the one that matters most: it releases chlorine gas.
• Teacher training — the machine is only used if staff are confident with it. We run operator and applications training in Arabic or English.

Buying for an institution

Education purchases usually run through a tender or a purchase order, and we quote to suit: itemised, with delivery, installation, extraction, training, consumables and a service plan stated separately so procurement can see what each part costs.
